When I came to Flagstaff to train last summer, I was immediately welcomed by the fantastic running family that is
Team Run Flagstaff. Every Tuesday night, TRF meets at the track for group speed work. One of the fantastic things about TRF is that it's made up of runners of all ability levels. Everyone runs their own pace and everyone is incredibly supportive of each other. The workouts are structured by time intervals, rather than a specific distance and we all regroup at the starting line during the rest intervals. Some people are training for road or trail races (we have some EXTREMELY talented trail runners here in Flagstaff!) and others are training for health and friendship. In addition to the Tuesday night track workouts, TRF hosts periodic social events so we can all get to know each other outside of a training setting. I feel really cheesy calling TRF a "family," but that's exactly what it is. I almost cried when I got back to Flagstaff this summer and coach Mike Smith greeted me with a big bear hug and a "Welcome back to the Family!"

The wonderful women over at Oiselle want to honor the running groups that keep us all going, by virually "meeting" them and then randomly drawing one group to win start line tees for everyone in the group. To enter, send the following information to
info@oiselle.com or post on
Oiselle's Facebook:
1. Running group (name or description)
2. Where are you?
3. Tell us about it! (Do you meet for speed, long run, are you all training for the same race, etc)
4. What's your favorite post run activity?
5. Anything else you want to share.
So, what are you waiting for? Check out the
